Teaching in the Northwest Territories is the most incredible experience. Interacting with Northern cultures with their worldviews that cherish the land, and believe in togetherness and respect is ultimately rewarding. The geography is awe inspiring. Snow forms in far off mountain peaks at the beginning of Autumn, and trickles down valleys as a fervor of preparation to intercept caribou and bird migrations begins. There are many memorable moments of mending fish nets and setting them under the ice to harvest fresh fish through winter. The sky with Northern lights, infinite stars and all the bright constellations is an incredible sight. Long daylight hours in the spring and summer make for great ice-fishing and other outdoor experiences. The Northwest Territories is an incredible place!
